How to Make a Withdrawal

It’s important for you to have quick, convenient access to your HSA funds. That’s why we offer four ways for you to use your HSA funds. You can choose a debit card, online transfer, check or manual withdrawal form to pay for eligible medical expenses.

Debit Cards

Our Visa® debit card allows you to easily remove funds from your account. It can be used for routine or point-of-sale purchases at medical service and product providers. You can also use your debit card at ATMs to reimburse yourself for eligible expenses paid out-of-pocket. Up to two FREE cards provided at enrollment. There is no transaction fee when used with your signature. A $2.00 transaction fee applies to PIN-based transactions.

Tips for Using your Debit Card

Online Transfers

We’ve developed an online transfer option that reimburses you for expenses paid out-of pocket. The online transfer option moves funds from your HSA to your regular checking or savings account. This option allows you to utilize the online bill pay services offered through your regular financial institution. Simply put, when you pay for expenses through your bank’s online bill pay, we’ll pay you back. Plus, you set the time of the transfer so you know exactly when your funds are available.

Manual Withdrawal

A manual withdrawal form is ideal for large medical expenses or to reimburse yourself for medical expenses paid out-of-pocket. It generally takes two weeks to receive the funds. To make a manual withdrawal, complete the Withdrawal Form and mail or fax it back to HSA Bank. A $10 processing fee will be deducted from your account.
