HSA Bank has been involved in the Health Savings Account industry since 1997, when the HSA predecessor (Medical Savings Accounts) were introduced. We have a dedicated, knowledgeable staff to help you along the way to declaring financial freedom over medical costs. Our staff consists of diverse backgrounds in insurance, third party administration and banking industries, which gives HSA Bank a unique advantage over our competition.

Business Relations

Our Business Relations team works closely with agents, health plans, third-party administrators, and employers to ensure they have the necessary information to educate employers and individuals on the benefits Health Savings Accounts can provide.

Kirk Hoewisch

Kirk Hoewisch, President
Kirk joined State Bank of Howards Grove as the Vice President of Operations in 1995. In 1997, he led the initiative to offer Medical Savings Accounts ( the predecessor to Health Savings Accounts) on a national scale. Over the last nine years, Kirk has led this business unit, now marketed as HSA Bank, to create a product that combines low fees, competitive rates, and dedicated service, which leads the competition which is now just entering the HSA market. Now, with more than 20 years of banking experience, and as the President of HSA Bank, Kirk is dedicated to the strategic development and management of the HSA Bank team.

   
Itamar Romanini

Itamar Romanini, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
Itamar joined HSA Bank as the Information Technology Analyst in 2000. Today as the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, he is responsible for the development and implementation of new technologies that help HSA Bank more effectively serve its relationships and customers. He was involved in implementing the automation of HSA Bank's paper application process, which minimizes manual intervention. He also introduced internet banking and online enrollment options. In addition to the technological advancements he has made, Itamar played an instrumental role in the development of the MSA Bank and HSA Bank brands. These efforts helped ignite the growth of HSA Bank.

   
Kevin Robertson

Kevin Robertson, Vice President - National Sales

Kevin joined HSA Bank in February 2007, and is responsible for managing HSA Bank’s sales team and overseeing the bank's sales operations. In addition to his banking experience, Kevin has more than 12 years of experience in insurance and financial services as an agency owner and managing general agent, and Registered Principal. Kevin is a graduate of Marquette University, and has extensive experience in recruiting, training, developing and managing sales teams, as well as strategic planning, marketing and business development within the insurance and financial services industries.

   
Wendy Williams

Wendy Williams, Vice President - Brokerage

Wendy joined HSA Bank as the Vice President of Brokerage in 2007. She is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Broker Dealers and Financial Advisors. Before joining HSA Bank, Wendy spent eight years in the insurance and financial services industries. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Jim Woodward

Jim Woodward, Regional Vice President

Jim joined HSA Bank as a Regional Vice President in 2005. He is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with insurance carriers, agencies, TPAs, employers and other financial institutions in the Pacific Northwest region of the country. Before joining HSA Bank, Jim gained more than 20 years experience in the health insurance industry, managing relationships with large employers and HR consultants in the Pacific Northwest. During that time, Jim was known for delivering exceptional service to customers, ensuring unprecedented levels of customer retention, market growth and favorable financial results.

David joined HSA Bank as a Regional Vice President in 2005. He is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with insurance carriers, agencies, TPAs, employers and other financial institutions along the West Coast. Before joining HSA Bank, David spent more than 17 years as a leading health insurance representative. With the introduction of Health Savings Accounts in 2004, David began educating agents, companies and consultants of its benefits and quickly grew into the leading agent for health savings accounts (HSAs) for his company.

Glenn joined HSA Bank in 2004. He is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with carriers, benefit consultants, TPAs, GAs, agencies, brokers, employers & other financial institutions in the Central region of the US. Glenn has nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He holds the CLU, FLMI and LUTCF professional designations.

Kathleen Craven

Kathleen Craven, Assistant Vice President

Kathleen joined HSA Bank in 2007 as the Assistant Vice President for Iowa and Nebraska. In 2008, Kathleen added Minnesota to her area of service. She is responsible for servicing and educating insurance agents and employers on the concept of health savings accounts (HSAs) and the benefits HSAs offer employees and employers. Before joining HSA Bank, Kathleen spent 15 years in sales and service management.

Michael Olaiz

Michael Olaiz, Assistant Vice President

Michael joined HSA Bank in 2005 as a supervisor in the Customer Assistance Center (CAC). He was promoted to the manager of the CAC in 2006. While managing the CAC, Michael took an active role in streamlining processes to create consistency throughout the CAC. He also developed an internal FAQ system that expanded the ability of all departments to provide consistent, accurate responses to customers. Today, Michael is responsible for serving HSA Bank’s business relationships in Texas as the Assistant Vice President – Texas.

Donna Woerner

Donna Woerner, Assistant Vice President

Donna joined HSA Bank in 2007 as the Assistant Vice President for the Northeast. Donna has an extensive background in administering self insurance programs for large national clients with an emphasis in employee benefit programs and consumer driven health care. She is an active member of NAHU, Insurance Woman of America and volunteers her time with the Big Brother/Big Sister organization. Donna received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Rutgers University.

Courtney Isabelle Schrom, Assistant Vice President

Courtney joined HSA Bank in 2007 as the Assistant Vice President for the Carolinas. In 2008, Courtney added Georgia to her area of service. She is an established insurance sales professional who is experienced in advising employers about the most effective programs to manage their industry-specific needs. As the Assistant Vice President for the Southeast, Courtney is responsible for educating business relationships, employer clients and consumers about the benefits of an HSA.

Eileen joined HSA Bank in 2007 as the Assistant Vice President for California. Prior to joining HSA Bank, Eileen spent more than 17 years as a leading health insurance representative in key California markets. With the introduction of health savings accounts (HSAs) in 2004, Eileen began educating agents of its benefits and the changing health insurance landscape.
